CATAMARAN "NA POLI" IN KAUAI

I have told some parts about our trip to Kauai. But as you now my Grandma was there too. So now she is going to tell about our adventure on the catamaran.

Hi - This is Dona, Emily's Grandma, here is my tale of the catamaran trip. We were on a 55 foot catamaran and we saw many beautiful sites. We saw a momma and baby monk seal sunning themselves on the beach. Madam Pelei's X which marks the most beautiful beach on the island, which was where the Hawaiin royalty hung out. Spinner dolphins crossed our path. A mother and a baby and adult dolphins. Legend says this brings good luck and also blessings. The Spinner dolphins arched out of the water and did complete flips.

The Tradewinds were blowing it was very rough. We got soaked. But it was fun and we got to ride on the end parts of the pontoons until it was so rough we had to come back in. We then went to a quiet bay where we snorkled. Emily saw lots of fish and is very comfortable snorkeling (after we had to trade face masks at least 600 times (lol) to get the proper fit).

We had a nice lunch and a smooth ride back to the dock.

And that is my Grandma's part of the story.

NEXT DAY IN KAUAI

On the next day we went on a helicopter trip. There was another family on the helicopter. First we went to a canyon which Mark Twain called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Then we saw sugar cane fields and a movie set. We saw tons and tons of waterfalls. They were very, very beautiful. The ride was exciting and fun.

EMILY GOES TO KAUAI!

My Grandma and I went to Kauai. We stayed at the Hanalei Bay Resort. It was a very cool hotel, there were coconuts growing outside our room. We were fifty feet away from a rain forest. Speaking of rain, I cannot believe how much it rains there. But let's get to the fun stuff now!

On our first day we went "snuba-ing", it is a cross between snorkeling and scuba. We had an airhose that hooked onto a tank on a little raft so we could breathe. Then we started to swim, we saw lots of fish and a snowflake moray eel. The snuba master gave me bread to hold out to feed the fish, I got bit and it hurt a little and I bled. But that was okay and I started to swim more.
